The Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions
One of the few good things about pandemic lockdowns is the fact that they inspired some strokes of genius in certain artists, Eric Clapton being a case in point. The veteran British rocker did not lose heart when his live shows at The Royal Albert Hall were cancelled this past February. Instead, he retreated to the English countryside with his musicians and created an audio gem that will soon be available in physical and digital formats.
The famous multi-award-winning Brazilian singer-songwriter released this album of previously unpublished songs with Sony Music. The compendium will offer songs like Anjos Tronchos, Sem Samba Não Dá y Você-Você (in duet with famous fado singer Carminho) all of them with Veloso’s reflections on the modern world: his concerns over technology, the internet, loss of identity, and the frantic pace of modern life. This is an intense and vital work in which Veloso, off course, never disappoints.
