La semilla de la bruja

Margaret Atwood

This is the latest book by Atwood, who is once again in the center of public debate owing to the television series The Handmaid’s Tale, which is based on her 1985 novel. Hag-Seed was written as part of the Shakespeare Project, which invited several authors to create novels inspired by the works of the English playwright.  In this book, fifty-ish Felix Duke, who serves as the volunteer director of a prison theater group, rehearses alongside his actors for a presentation of The Tempest. Rehearsal after rehearsal, both Duke and his inmate actors immerse themselves in the play and its characters, reviving old sorrows and resentments in the process.
