Camarón: Flamenco y revolución

Director: Alexis Morante

Brilliant Flamenco singer José Monje Cruz (immortalized as Camarón de la Isla), forever seen as an insurgent by purists, revolutionized the art of flamenco singing to become an icon in Spain and among the Roma people. Alexis Morante uses previously-unseen footage to revive one of the most influential flamenco artists of the 20th century, who was struck down prematurely in 1992. The off-camera voices of his friend, guitarist Juan Diego, and Camarón himself, give the film a special magic.
